Our family of 4 LOVED this campground. There are tons of activities for the kids. (Putting green, giant chess and checkers, horseshoes, tetherball and a pool) The campground was not crowded, and all the campers were spaced apart which allowed for privacy instead of packing us all together in one area. It may not be that nice when it is full. We enjoyed being so close to Arches National Park. (Go in the spring instead of the heat of summer!)The restrooms/showers were spotless every day of our stay. This will be our campground of choice whenever we are in Moab.

The only positive things about this campground were the super clean restrooms and a very nice office employee. This is a gravel parking lot with hookups. That would be okay for an overnight stop just to sleep, but that leads me to the biggest negative. The NOISE! Trains run by the campground constantly. They are so close our entire trailer shook. When there is a welcome break between trains, trucks on I-40 roar by. I might have been able to live with that for $10-15 a night, but $39! Next time we stop in Gallup, we'll try the local Walmart. There won't be any hookups, but it's not next to the train tracks either.

When we camped here, the area was having a bad drought. This caused the river to be just a trickle. We camped here before, and the river was flowing fast. It may not be what some people expect when they hear the word "river". It is better described as a stream. This is a very pretty place. Our boys had a great time sailing homemade boats attatched to fishing line. The owner worked very hard to accomodate us over Memorial Day weekend during our first stay when the campground was very full. We will return here often. It is awesome to make s'mores at your campfire with the sound of the river nearby.(Call ahead to check drought conditions to see if fires are allowed if that's important to you.)The only drawback is the lack of shower/bath facilities noted in a previous post.
